MEd Leadership and Learning - Information Session
Event Information
About this Event
At this information session you will have the opportunity to hear about the programme, meet the programme team and colleagues from our Local Authority Teacher Education Partnership.
On the night you will be able to elect to hear more about the pathways most relevant for you – whether you wish to deepen your own pedagogic knowledge and expertise as a classroom practitioner through critical enquiry or develop as a middle leader leading change in schools.
We are now recruiting for places on the MEd Leadership and Learning, with a study start date of August 2020. Please note, thanks to Scottish Government funding to support high quality Professional Learning, there are a number of heavily subsidised funded places available for participants from our 6 local authority partners (City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian, Scottish Borders, Fife and West Lothian). We also welcome applications from self-funded teachers/school leaders from the Independent sector and outwith our partner LA areas. Applications will be available after the event.
About the MEd Leadership and Learning Programme
The MEd Leadership and Learning is a professional masters degree programme with a dual academic and professional dimension, that is designed specifically for practising teachers and educational leaders and managers to undertake practice focused masters level study. This is a practice-focused and practice-based programme, underpinned by critical enquiry and a commitment to developing the dispositions of collaborative professionalism. Each course provides opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and critical understandings of practice and your learning will be highly contextualised and situated within their your own context.
It is structured to provide a coherent yet flexible pathway for masters study that is aligned with and supports professional learning relevant to an individual’s professional context, career stage and potential career pathways. The Programme is aligned to the GTCS Professional Standards (see Standard for Career Long Professional Learning and Standards for Leadership and Management) and is underpinned by the national model of professional learning.
