Summer 1914. There is tension on the streets of Belfast as Home Rule looms and Edward Carson calls the men of Ulster to order. A shot rings out in Sarajevo and what may have been civil war becomes World War. “Medal In The Drawer” follows four volunteers from Belfast on their war-journey: follow the men as they join up, become a fighting force, and make their way to the Western Front and their fate.
The play is written and directed by Brenda Winter Palmer, founder and former Artistic Director of Replay, the leading theatre in education company.
“A superb and moving play.” K. McCormack, Belfast (audience member).
