Off the clock.
Are you passionate about technology?
You don't have to work in IT to be a tech head, gadget lover or excited about the technology that is so fundementally part of 21st Century life. Love it or hate it you can't deny it's a powerful force.
MediaCamp is about celebrating innovation, discovering social media, learning new ways to managing its infiltration in to daily life.
Its about hearing the stories of those who seem to inhabit this world in harmony with tech and listen to cautionary tales of what happens when tech goes awry.
There will be session to get you started making media and blogging is unbelievably simple ways.
Coming to MediaCampNottingham is about starting a new journey. Its about discovering new path ways. Its about meeting like minded people...off the clock. ie. not at work!
It's on a Saturday. It has a creche. It has lunch (£2 if you aren't running a session). It has shared stories. It's all about you.
You make the event. Here's how...
When signing up consider the following (not compulsory)
- Offer to talk about your experience with technology
- Offer to tell the story of your latest project
- Offer to run a workshop
- Offer to hold a discussion group
- Offer to help steward on the day
The schedule, across 4 rooms with session starting on the hour starts off empty. As people sign up and offer to run sessions, hold discussions, share projects and experiences they are added to the timetable.
On the day we all turn up, attend sessions, meet new people, discover people we 've been following on twitter, connect with people on twitter we weren't following before!, eat lunch, come together at the end for a tech/arts performace before retiring to a bar for drinks and food.
Not forgetting meeting up again with MediaCampNottingham folk from events 1 2 and 3
Introducing Linda Harrision: Of course there will be a closing performance to bring the day to a stuctured conclusion.
I think every artist feels the same, biographies make us feel very awkward, but I suppose they serve a purpose. The following is perhaps more of a review. However it was something I saw after a show and this seemed like the best place to share it with you.
