Issues around access to our countryside can be emotive and can sometimes escalate into bitter disputes between individuals or organisations that are challenging and difficult to resolve. These conflicts can arise from single incidents or ongoing disputes. This 3 hour online workshop is appropriate for Access Officers, Countryside Rangers, visitor rangers and anyone involved in addressing outdoor access issues. It offers the opportunity to consider the causes of conflict, the ways it can escalate and how best to manage and resolve disputes and complaints. Facilitated by Scottish Mediation and exploring techniques used in mediation the workshop also gives an insight into how mediation works and when it might be helpful.
