This course has been devised by an expert team of clinicians to cover commonly encountered medical and surgical conditions in undergraduate examinations. This is one of our most popular international courses and provides you with an intensive overview of over 100 cases in medicine and surgery. Delegates are taken through the pathophysiology of various conditions with the relevant signs, symptoms, investigations and management plans, as well as coached on how to articulate findings to impress examiners.
The course is delivered as an intensive one day format with medical cases taught in the morning and surgical cases in the afternoon. Medical topics include cardiology, respiratory, diabetes, endocrinology, rheumatology, dermatology, neurology, gasteroenterology and radiology. Surgical topics include breast disease, vascular surgery, upper GI, lower GI, neck lumps, scars, thyroid, hernias, trauma and orthopaedics, short cases, urology and surgical radiology.
The instructor for Medical and Surgical 100 will be Dr Adeel Iqbal MBBS AICSM.
Dr Iqbal is a winner of the Rector's Gold Medal Award from Imperial College London, with multiple academic prizes for the highest performance in undergraduate medical exams, including the Abraham’s Award for Medical Pathology, a first class honours degree from the National Heart and Lung Institute in Cardiovascular sciences, with international publications in the highest impact factor journals including in the journal of Stem Cells and cardiac transplantation. He also has numerous teaching awards for medical education, including from the British Parliament owing to lecturing to thousands of medical students. Dr Iqbal serves on the advisory boards of numerous medical aid charities and is a former member of the Faculty of Global Health Imperial College London, as well as being a member of the Department for Acute medicine in one of London’s busiest hospitals and a serving regisrar in Scotland.
