Medical Careers Presentations to Schools
Are you a doctor interested in engaging with state schools in the Greater Manchester area?
As part of Manchester Medical School’s commitment to widening access to the medical profession we are looking to recruit a team of doctors who would like to deliver presentations on a “Career in Medicine” to pupils attending state schools in the Greater Manchester area. In particular to schools attended by students from backgrounds currently underrepresented in higher education.
Participants would be expected to attend a training session as follows:

Venue: Manchester Medical School, University of Manchester, Stopford
Building, Committee Room A
Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Aim: To break down barriers between young people, schools and the medical profession.
Intended Learning Objectives:
Intended Learning Objectives by the end of this workshop:
- To inform participants of a standardised framework to deliver a presentation on a career in Medicine
- To describe the admissions process to Manchester Medical School
- To impart an understanding of the principles of widening participation (WP)

The workshops are free and open to all staff involved in teaching Manchester medical undergraduates. Places on workshops are limited so booking is essential.
