Medical Educator Development Programme

Welcome to our exciting event focused on enhancing your skills as a medical educator! Join us at the Medical Education Center, King's Mill Hospital.

This course is designed to empower educators in the medical field with innovative teaching techniques and resources designed and delivered by Dr Swe Yin Khin Htun, the Honorary Fellow from the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) and a Fellow from Faculty of Surgical Trainers, the Royal College of Surgeons (Edin). Currently, her programmes are the benchmark of quality service delivery and an example to other institutions.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or wish to dip your toes into teaching, this event will provide valuable insights to help you excel as an educator.

This counts towards 12 CPD from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the course contents are part of Academy of Medical Education accredited Plus PG Cert course.

Fulfil the UK Foundation FPC 10 (Teach the Teacher) criteria:

  • IMT: 1 point
  • ACCS: 1 point
  • CST: Indicator D
  • Radiology: 2 points
  • Histopathology: 1 point
  • Ophthalmology: 0.5 points.

If you need more than 2 days training, please let the team lead know on that day and we will guide and signpost you the different achievable ways suited for you.

The course contents are part of Academy of Medical Education accredited Plus PG Cert course.

Eligible for 12 CPD from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).

Why choose this course?

This course counts as points towards securing a training post, but through the HESG charity, we also offer opportunities for teaching training, teaching experiences, presentations, publications, educational management and leadership through collaboration with many working groups around the world.

Who is delivering the course?

Our teaching team is led by an award-winning clinician-educator with a strong track record in teaching and research. All teachers are completing a Master’s in Medical Education and/or actively involved in delivering CPD activities.

What do I need to bring on the day?

You need only bring yourselves, a notebook and a pen, as well as and a packed lunch. Failing that, there will be provisions, and a large Morrisons walking distance from the Education Centre.
