Medicine for Members: Primary Care in Gosport
Wed 5 April 2017, 18:15 – 20:00 BST
Two years ago local care organisations, GPs and charities in Hampshire entered into a partnership to improve the way local care is being planned and delivered. As a nation we are living longer and our needs are changing, so the demand on our health services is growing. However, resources are limited and GPs are finding it increasingly difficult to cope with more and more patients with increasingly complex problems.
Dr Donal Collins and Dr Stuart Morgan, both GPs practicing in Gosport, will speak about how the Better Local Care programme has changed the way GP based services are delivered in Gosport, how services for local people have improved, and what the future of these services in Gosport and surrounding areas could look like.
Topics covered will include the future of the Same Day Access Service at Gosport War Memorial Hospital and the merger of four Gosport GP surgeries.
