Event description
Representing interconnectedness between humans and nature - the Wheel is a symbol that helps us explore our inner world

About this Event

The Medicine Wheel is a symbol used in ceremonies, teachings, and therapies, It has been found across the world, in different areas and is associated with a range of indigenous peoples such as the ancient Druids, Mayans, Aztecs, and the many different native American First Peoples.

The Wheel itself represents the interconnectedness between humans and nature and can be taken on many inter-related levels. For example - as an outward expression of our inner world.

This symbolic circle is a useful tool for personal exploration as well as growth and transformation. The Wheel stands at the intersection between mental health services as we perceive them today and the spiritual, creative expression of the human psyche that was not a separate entity in the past.

This three day course immerses you in the Wheel so you start to understand the different layers and complexity of this sacred space as you unveil insights in to your own way of being.

Day 1 we will explore the known history of Medicine Wheels and the many ways they have been created and used. You will begin your experience of the Wheel with a practice we use in Nature Therapy based on personal reflection.

Day 2 - we will look in more depth at the Nature Therapy Wheel alongside a Wheel used in addiction recovery. You will gain embodied experience of using a Wheel and insights into how you could use them in your practice or for your own personal development. You will use your embodied experiences to start to formulate your own Wheel based on personal relevance.

Day 3 will start with sharing ideas about your Wheel and how you may apply it into the future. Quiet time will be provided (with hammocks, woodland and reflective space) so you continue with the creative process. We will finish with a simple ceremony setting intent on future use of your Medicine Wheel.

This course is non denominational - the Wheel below is just an example of a Wheel used in Druidery.
