Learning to write the Gothic style script from medieval manuscripts using a quill (optional) and ink, working towards a written quotation. Tools and materials included. Historical insight into the work of the medieval scribes. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.

Taking place inside the Sandwich Medieval Centre gives a chance to experience some hands-on history, as the sights, sounds and smells of other crafts being demonstrated evoke the past in the open visitor centre.

This workshop takes place in the upper floor and accessed via some steep steps. Hot beverages are offered and you are welcome to come in costume but not essential !

Is there convenient parking near the venue ?

There is a pay and display car park right by the Centre

Is there diabled access to the workshop ?

Because of the nature of the medieval building there is only disabled access to the lower floor via a ramp or grassed flat path, but the steep steps to the upper floor may be difficult for some people.
