A day full of medieval flavour and fun – a great family day out for the start of the summer holidays.
About this event
A great day of fun. A re-enactment of a medieval pageant including live history of medieval times brought to life. For the children there's a fancy dress competition - why not dress the whole family and let the children join in the fun? Monks, minstrels, and music - bring your own lute and recorder and play or sing along; rustic games and pastimes and music performances throughout the afternoon; a hog roast for the hungry and a licensed bar hopefully providing mead as well.
As the abbey site is on private land, this will be a rare chance to join guided tours of the historic abbey site. The day ends with a performance of an East Anglian Mystery Play ‘The Conversion of St. Paul’ performed by C67, a well-known local drama group.
Please note that there is no internet connection available at the site; mobile phone connection is very poor. This means that food outlets, the bar etc., can only accept cash.
