Try Meditation for £5 in Taunton!

Following the oversubscribed launch of the Akhanda yoga taster on 9th January, I'm delighted to share another 2 x 1 hour taster classes in Taunton on 28th January.

My intention is for a second yoga class and a meditation class on a Tuesday every week during school term time at the fabulous Q'dos Dance Studio located at Castle School. So I thought I'd run a taster and see if there is enough interest to make this a regular thing.

The Meditation Class will be at 5.30 for one hour.


WHAT IS MEDITATION?

Meditation is often called the science of mind.

We often aren't able to control our negative and self-harming thoughts and reactions and this lack of power of mind is the true cause of stress.

A mind that is constantly in reactive mode brings about feelings and emotions which cause harm to our happiness, our relationships and our world.
We often react badly from emotions such as anger, jealousy, worry, regret, sorrow, grief, fear.

Furthermore, these emotions can keep us stuck in a place which doesn't serve our dreams and wishes for an abundant and happy life.

We often seek comfort in habits and addictions such as sugar, drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. that don't serve our health in mind, body or spirit.

Meditation gives us a way of seeing a situation, no matter how challenging, that is neither harmful or negative. We can still witness those emotions but we don't react to them so intensely.

A trained mind will see the positive in each challenge sooner or later.

In addition, confidence, self-esteem and self-worth improve and we learn that almost anything is possible.

There are so many life events where a regular meditation practice will help. From driving to work in heavy traffic to moving home, sitting exams, managing difficult relationships and approaching our health or financial issues, our state of the mind is everything.

If you suffer from anxiety, depression, stress or just want to live a more relaxed and blissful life, meditation will really help you.
