Meditation with Sound Bath

Join us for a nourishing evening session of Meditation with Sound Bath held every Wednesday evening. Taught by experienced and qualified teacher Dr. Gabriella F. Buttarazzi (Uma Shakti Devi), this in-person weekly session takes place at Wild Peace Cottage, 83 Meeting Street, Quorn, LE12 8EU.

These sessions encourage you to enter deep relaxation through meditation coupled with immersive sound and vibration, which activates your self-healing mechanism to help you to let go of the week. Meditation is a foundational spiritual and wellbeing discipline that develops both focused attention, heart-mind cultivation open awareness.

By now, the benefits of meditation have long been studied and promoted across a range of contexts, particularly to support the dynamics of all manner of human relationships. The benefits also fall into one or more of the following categories:

  1. Performance-based: Enhancing individual performance and executive functioning, such as memory and concentration,
  2. Therapeutic: Supporting mental health and psychological wellbeing, such as the alleviation of anxiety, stress and depression,
  3. Relational: Developing and improving interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships through enhanced self-awareness and awareness of oneself in relation to others and the world, and
  4. Integral/Spiritual: Cultivating the flourishing of confidence, creativity and consciousness.

The sessions begin with a brief introduction to the selected meditation practice – which are diverse in origin and technique – followed by 15-25 minutes of stillness practice and closing with a deep 35-45-minute relaxation with a beautiful soothing sound bath.

Sound healing therapies, sound baths and sound meditations use Himalayan singing bowls and various other percussion instruments such as tingsha, drums and bells, which create both sound and vibration. The experience of sound with Himalayan singing bowls is not simply auditory, it can feel as intense as receiving a full body massage. It has a powerful impact on our mood and state of being. The sound created releases tension to generate relaxation for the mind and body, while the vibration created facilitates the opening, unblocking, soothing and healing deep within the mind and body. Sound baths involve a slightly more creative high intensity sound and vibration compared with sound healing meditations.

No prior experience is necessary: whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, this session welcomes you with open arms. The practice is inclusive of all cultures, as well as those from both secular and non-secular backgrounds.
