MedTech Foundation Birmingham "Hack Day"
Event Information
Description
Are you an innovator? Do you want to learn how to take your idea from concept to market?
The MedTech Foundation is a student and trainee affiliation of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Trauma Management MedTech Cooperative and NIHR Surgical MedTech Cooperative (http://surgicalmic.nihr.ac.uk/medtechfoundation).
The primary aim of the Foundation is to enthuse and engage students, trainees and early career researchers (within 5 years of graduation) in interdisciplinary research and innovation through an INNOVATION PROGRAMME
We are launching the programme at a “Hack Day” on 21ST JANUARY 2019, 6-8PM at the QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL (Lecture Theatre, First floor)
Delegates will be introduced to a series of unmet clinical needs by clinicians in surgery, anaesthesia, critical care and trauma care.
Those interested in completing the main programme (24 spaces available!) will then be invited to take part in a series of workshops to develop ideas in an educational setting, with support from FIELD EXPERTS and SMALL-MEDIUM SIZED ENTERPRISES!
The programme will conclude with a “Dragon’s Den” style event, where students are challenged to pitch ideas for solving these unmet needs.
Funding for the 'winning' proposal will be made available as well as mentorship through the MedTech Cooperative to develop the idea going forwards!
