Event description

Description

The future is rail freight.

For many years people have talked about a new inland rail terminal in the Sheffield City Region - and now iPort Doncaster is a reality.

Journey times are now under two hours to Teesport and Immingham, and under seven hours to Felixstowe, London Gateway, Mossend (Glasgow) and Southampton. But our plans do not stop there. Under consideration is a train from Humberside to take advantage of the recent gauge clearance to the Humber Ports.

Europe, too, is on the horizon with attractive journey times of 30 hours to central Germany, 36 hours to northern Italy and 70 hours to central Poland.

Our only limitation is your imagination.

And now we'd like to invite you to join us to hear more about iPort Rail - the first new inland rail freight interchange to be opened in the UK for 10 years.

There will be brief presentations at 9.30am and 10.30am, from speakers representing the iPort and Sheffield City Region, which is rapidly becoming the logistics capital of the North with available labour and sites.

There will be plenty of time to discuss how rail can become a key part of your multimodal strategy - and iPort Rail is just part of the story. The wider iPort has space for up to six million sq ft. of warehousing, as well as direct access to the M18, Doncaster Sheffield Airport less than two miles away and access to the Humber ports in 60 minutes.

Make time for a coffee and bacon roll on Wednesday 2 May to discover how the iPort can work for you.
