IMPORTANT NOTE: DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS EVENT WILL BE BEING RESCHEDLED.

A new date will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.

Don't miss this cosy lunchtime chat with queen of crime, Val McDermid.

Val is joining us to celebrate the launch of her new novel, SILENT BONES; the latest instalment in the brilliant Karen Pirie series. As long-time fans of Val's work (her books are some of the most popular in our LGBTQ+ library), we couldn't possibly be more excited to be able to host her for this event.

The event will include an interview, open Q&A session and the chance to ask Val to sign one of your books! If you would like to submit questions to the Q&A ahead of time, please email Kate (she/her - kate.heppell@theproudtrust.org) and she will put your question to Val on your behalf.

Tea and coffee are provided.

The event takes place at The Proud Place, Manchester's LGBTQ+ community centre, and all proceeds from the event will go towards the work of The Proud Trust.

As an optional extra, we are offering an LGBTQ+ history walking tour following this event, for anyone who wants to learn more about Manchester's queer past and connect with our history.

About The Proud Trust

The Proud Trust’s top priority is improving the lives of LGBTQ+ young people.

Through our regional youth work and national support services, we empower LGBTQ+ young people and the adults in their lives to create positive change for the future. Our work is building a safer environment for LGBTQ+ young people to thrive and achieve their full potential in all the spaces they exist. We do this because we believe all LGBTQ+ young people deserve to live happy, fulfilling lives.

We won’t stop until true equality is a reality for all LGBTQ+ young people.
