Discover the potential opportunities in the Asia Pacific Life Sciences and Healthcare markets with the Department for International Trade (DIT) by registering your interest in a 1-2-1 appointment.*

Meet with DIT Trade Officers from China, India, Japan and Australia, each with expert knowledge about the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors in their markets. In addition, there will be an opportunity to meet with the East of England Life Science and Healthcare sector specialist. 1-2-1 appointments with all representatives will be available to request, providing you with the chance to ask questions and gain insight on these growing, high potential markets. We will endeavour to arrange as many of your requested appointments as possible at the time you specified, however no meetings are guaranteed until someone has been in touch to confirm your schedule.

Australia

Emile Brys, Senior Trade Development Manager – DIT Australia

Emile has spent over 12 years working in the Life Sciences industry, both in the UK and Australia. He has held Business Development roles in global clinical research organisations, and more recently in the Australian biotechnology industry. Through these roles he has gained significant experience across a broad range of commercialisation activities, including identifying, developing and managing business relationships, managing intellectual property portfolios, and managing and coordinating due diligence processes. Emile holds an MSc. in Medical Diagnostics and a BSc. (Hons.) in Cell Biology and Human Genetics. In Australia, Emile specifically covers Trade in the Life Sciences sector.




China

Dadong Li, DIT Trade and Investment Manager – DIT China

As a DIT Trade and Investment Manager, Dadong is based in Beijing and covers life sciences sector of North China, 16 provinces of a total population of 580 million.

Prior to DIT, Dadong has been working as a junior scientist with Chinese Academy of Sciences on natural product synthesis for oncology drug discovery and a senior management consultant on Strategy with PwC Consulting to advise pharmaceutical, medtech companies as well as hospitals on strategy development and operational performance improvement.

Dadong holds a B.S degree in Material Chemistry from Peking University and a PhD in Chemistry from New York University.




India

Nandita Rajput, DIT Commercial Officer – DIT India

Nandita Rajput is the commercial officer for life sciences and chemicals sectors within the Department for International Trade (DIT) of British High Commission, India.

Nandita has successfully delivered several projects on the UK – India partnerships, supporting the UK and Indian companies to collaborate for research and development, innovation, technology transfers and commercialisation of the products. Nandita has supported number of Indian companies to invest into the UK and has delivered many high value investments into the UK. Nandita has also supported UK life sciences and chemicals companies to secure high value export deals in India.




Japan

Akiko Okamoto, Senior Trade Adviser – DIT Japan

Akiko joined the Life Sciences team in Japan in August 2017, while also still continuing to dedicate some of his time to the Technology sector. Prior to that, Akiko worked for different trade teams in Japan including business services, retail and construction to name a few and also has experience working for the Inward Investment team in the past.




DIT East of England

Phil Jennings Life Sciences Sector Specialist

Phil has 30 years of experience in Life Science international business with a track record of delivering sales and margin growth for start-up and multi-national companies. He has successfully built a range of businesses by managing and developing multi-cultural in-house teams and third party distribution channels
