Join us on 9th February 2022 to hear from two successful start-up founders working on building and scaling their businesses. We’ll discuss their business successes and challenges and invite them to share insights from their journey.

Speaker 1 - Kate Walker – “ExpHand Prosthetics”

Kate met a little girl called Zoey 2 years ago and knew she wanted to design an arm that would fit her as she grew and that she'd feel comfortable wearing too. So Kate designed a prosthetic specifically for kids, and founded the multi award-wining ExpHand. Kate will walk you through her start-up journey and the support she received through LU Inc.

Speaker 2 – Elliott Perry

Elliott is a serial entrepreneur who founded several companies in the UK and USA, moving through start-up business accelerators towards successful businesses. Elliott’s recent venture, #Workanywhere, specialises in improving environments for people working remotely by providing required technology from hardware & software support, to consulting and training. Elliott will share his entrepreneurial journey with top tips to become a successful businessperson.

Our offer

We’ll then share details of our new Business Accelerator Programme. It will deliver a range of free support including:

• Coaching - guidance on how to rapidly test new ideas and set up and grow new business ventures

• Accelerators – 12-week expert-led workshops with mentorship, networking and motivation

• Connections – signposting and support to access networks across the region

• Workspace - access to flexible shared office space at Loughborough University and Loughborough town centre

• Funding – the potential to access funding towards follow-on workspace (post-programme) for local entrepreneurs and Startup Fund support for LU graduate entrepreneurs

People of all backgrounds are welcome, including recent graduates and local entrepreneurs who are developing businesses outside of the university.
