Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire is here to improve people’s lives by getting more people physically active and healthier. We do this by working with a range of partners and stakeholders by providing leadership for physical activity and sport.
Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire presently has a number of funding pots to support community organisations, associations, trusts, sports clubs (including non for profit organisations and businesses) get more people physically active. These funds are primarily (but not exclusively) focused on getting the people that following the pandemic are least likely to be active ore active. These include:
- People with long term health conditions (including mental health and wellbeing)
- Disabled people
- Lower socio-economic groups
- Culturally diverse communities (people from ethnic minority backgrounds)
- Women and girls
- Older adults
These funds include:
- Tackling Inequalities Fund – grants available between £500 - £5000 (in exceptional circumstances up to £10000) Click
- Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games small grants – grants available between £100 - £2500
- Herefordshire Sports Club Grants – up to £1000.
