The voluntary and community sector plays a key part in helping us deliver a welcoming environment for those seeking to build new lives in the Borough of Wandsworth. For this reason, we have created the Wandsworth Borough of Sanctuary Fund to support groups, organisations and companies who work with sanctuary seekers across the borough.
The Wandsworth Borough of Sanctuary Fund provides grants of up to £10,000 to support local not-for-profit organisations in creating a welcoming environment for those building new lives in the borough.
The fund has four priorities it will support projects under:
- Education: employment and training: Emphasising the need to equip refugees and asylum seekers with the skills necessary to access opportunities and thrive in their new home
- Wellbeing: Supporting activities which promote refugees and asylum seeker’s wellbeing
- Advocacy and Advice: Emphasising the need to support refugees and asylum seekers to navigate systems in the UK
- Celebrating Refugees and Asylum Seekers: Projects which promote the contribution that refugees and asylum seekers make to the borough
