As part of the Urban Food Fortnight celebrations of the fabulous produce grown, made, cooked and saved in the city, our CEO Kate Hofman will be giving a short talk on setting up a sustainable food business. She will talk you through the business values, how GrowUp Urban Farms began, why it was started and what impact it has on the world we live in today. She’ll give a brief introduction to aquaponics and vertical farming and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions about our farming techniques and business model.
We are really excited to be hosting this session at Albion. Albion is a celebration of Britain and the local area in every sense – from the artisan produce on the shelves and the seasonal ingredients in the kitchens, right down to the décor, furniture and, the smaller details, like the knives and forks. During the talk, we are demoing free samples of some of our locally grown salads, herbs and micro-greens; ranging from Sunflower Shoots, Micro-coriander, Micro-radish and many more. We will be hosting our demo talk as an afternoon coffee session between 6pm-7pm in Albion - Clerkenwell, champions of local producers and growers. Spaces are free but limited – there are only 12 seats for the talk so get your tickets before they sell out!
