About this event

Community • Heritage

Within the Guards, there is only one official Regimental Mascot - the Irish Guards Wolfhound. In these exclusive sessions, you will have the chance to meet Drummer Aldridge and the current Regimental Mascot: Turlough Mór, better known as Seamus.

Seamus joined the Regiment in 2020, and has since played a key role in a number of historic occasions - including the King's Coronation and the 125th anniversary of the Irish Guards.

You will have the chance to speak to Drummer Aldridge about life in the Regiment, ask questions, and even take a photograph with the Mascot.

This event is part of our Heritage Open Days festival: Barracks, Bombs, and Buckingham Palace.

Taking place at The Guards Museum on the 13th and 14th September, join us for a free weekend of history and culture with something for the whole family. Whether its a trip to the re-enactors camp, handling objects from our collection, or simply sitting back and enjoying the sounds of live vintage music from Lancashire Belle.
