About Dark Art Distillery
Nestled in the heart of Kirkcudbright, Scotland’s most southerly distillery draws inspiration from the nearby Galloway Forest Park, renowned as the UK's first Dark Sky Park. Founded by Andrew Clark Hutchison, who has deep familial ties to the area, Dark Art Distillery began operations in 2021 in a beautifully restored former primary school .
The distillery's name reflects its dual inspirations: the "Dark" of the inky night skies over the forest park, and the "Art" of Kirkcudbright's rich artistic heritage. This fusion of nature and creativity is evident in their handcrafted spirits, each telling a story of innovation and tradition.
Signature Spirits
- Sky Garden Gin: A classic dry gin inspired by the crystal-clear night skies above the Galloway Forest Park. It features a harmonious blend of juniper and citrus notes, complemented by botanicals that bloom under the night sky .
- UnderStory Gin: Drawing from the woodland floor of the Galloway Forest, this gin offers earthy and piney flavors, capturing the essence of the forest's undergrowth .
