Rarity loves to showcase the best of what Scotland has to offer. We are delighted to welcome Glasgow Distillery for a distinctive tasting on Thursday 28th August.

Eestablished in 2012, The Glasgow Distillery is a freestanding, independently owned enterprise. Their mission is to bring premium spirit distillation back to the city of Glasgow.

The original Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 1770, producing unpeated, peated, and triple-distilled single malt until its eventual closure in 1902. This historic distillery inspired the core range offerings by Glasgow 1770, featuring: The Original — a fruity, unpeated malt; The Peated — matured in virgin American oak and finished in Pedro Ximénez casks; and finally, The Triple Distilled.

The brand recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary and has released several small-batch editions in unique casks, along with cask-strength versions of its Core Range. It’s been an exciting time for Glasgow 1770, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Rarity.

Attendees can expect to:

  • Learn about the history of Glasgow 1770 and discover what’s next for the distillery.
  • Sample a selection of their whiskies and explore the distinct flavours within their Core Range.
  • Understand and taste the differences between double- and triple-distilled Scotch whisky.
