Are you passionate about peace and justice? Looking to explore The Hague's vibrant community of professionals working towards a more peaceful and just world? Whether you’re a seasoned professional in the peace and justice sector, a student eager to connect and learn, or simply a curious member of the public, Just Peace Open Day at The Hague Humanity Hub is the event for you! Engage directly with representatives from leading peace and justice organizations. The Hub Café will feature stands from 9 different member-organisations: Arab West Foundation, Article 19, City-Vote, IDLO, Eurojust, The Hague Humanity Hub, Amnesty International, Global Shapers, and Impunity Watch

• Arab West Foundation – Promotes intercultural understanding and dialogue between the Arab world and the West through research, publications, and bridging initiatives.

• Article 19 – A global NGO defending freedom of expression and access to information, advocating for media freedom and human rights worldwide.

• City-Vote – An initiative supporting international residents in The Hague by facilitating their participation in local elections and strengthening civic engagement.

• IDLO (International Development Law Organization) – An intergovernmental organization advancing the rule of law, justice, and sustainable development around the world

• Eurojust – The EU agency for judicial cooperation in criminal matters, helping national authorities coordinate investigations and prosecutions of serious cross-border crime.

• Amnesty International – A global human rights movement campaigning to end abuses, protect freedoms, and ensure justice and dignity for all people.

• Global Shapers – A youth-led network initiated by the World Economic Forum, driving dialogue, action, and change in local communities across the globe.

• Impunity Watch – An NGO promoting accountability for mass human rights violations, supporting victims, and strengthening local capacities for transitional justice.

• The Hague Humanity Hub – A community and workspace that connects innovators, NGOs, and institutions working on peace, justice, and humanitarian action.

Additionally, during your visit you'll be able to go to visit Partos, Iran Academia and HALO Trust in their office at The Hague Humanity Hub. You do not have to sign up for this separately.

• Partos – The Dutch membership body for organisations working in international development, fostering collaboration, innovation, and effectiveness across the sector.

• Iran Academia – An institute for higher education and critical studies focusing on democracy, human rights, and social sciences, providing academic opportunities to Iranians worldwide.

• The HALO Trust – The world’s largest humanitarian landmine clearance organisation, working to remove landmines and other explosive remnants of war to protect lives and restore livelihoods.

Do you have kids? We welcome you to bring your little ones ages 4-14 to drop by for a creative kids workshop with Colors for Peace. Guided by facilitators, kids will use colors, creativity, and imagination to express their ideas about a more peaceful world. Just Peace Open Day 2025

The Hague is known worldwide as the "International City of Peace & Justice," and almost every monumental building in the city plays a role in building a more just and peaceful world.

From the Peace Palace to the International Criminal Court, from the UN International Criminal Court to the Oranjehotel National Monument, the streets of The Hague breathe history! But what actually happens behind those grand doors every day? And how do people working in The Hague help make the world a better and fairer place? That's why the Just Peace Open Day is here to find out!

For one special Sunday in September, on the International Day of Peace, Just Peace The Hague and more than 20 partners will open their doors to you for a look behind the scenes and to hear the stories of the people and history behind each institution.

If you are planning on visiting more organisations during the Just Peace Open Day, make sure to only book one session in a given time slot. Multiple bookings in the same time slot (at one or multiple organisations) made by the same individual will be cancelled.

This information is used to manage your participation and to inform you about future events. If relevant, we may also collect your dietary requirements (e.g. for events with catering) or your consent to receive our newsletter. We do not share your personal information with other organizations without your explicit consent. Your data is stored securely. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your information at any time. We retain event registration data for up to five years to help us understand participation trends and improve our programming. Of je nu een doorgewinterde professional bent in de vredes- en rechtvaardigheidssector, een student die graag contacten wil leggen en wil leren, of gewoon een nieuwsgierig lid van het publiek, dan is de Just Peace Open Day in The Hague Humanity Hub het evenement voor jou! Kom in direct contact met vertegenwoordigers van toonaangevende vredes- en rechtvaardigheidsorganisaties. In het Hub Café staan stands van 9 verschillende lidorganisaties: Arab West Foundation, Article 19, City-Vote, IDLO, Eurojust, The Hague Humanity Hub, Amnesty International, Global Shapers en Impunity Watch.

• Arab West Foundation – Bevordert intercultureel begrip en dialoog tussen de Arabische wereld en het Westen door middel van onderzoek, publicaties en bruggenbouwinitiatieven.
• Article 19 – Een wereldwijde ngo die opkomt voor vrijheid van meningsuiting en toegang tot informatie, en pleit voor mediavrijheid en mensenrechten wereldwijd.

• City-Vote – Een initiatief dat internationale inwoners van Den Haag ondersteunt door hun deelname aan lokale verkiezingen te vergemakkelijken en hun maatschappelijke betrokkenheid te versterken.

• IDLO (International Development Law Organization) – Een intergouvernementele organisatie die zich inzet voor de rechtsstaat, gerechtigheid en duurzame ontwikkeling over de hele wereld.

• Eurojust – Het EU-agentschap voor justitiële samenwerking in strafzaken, dat nationale autoriteiten helpt bij het coördineren van onderzoeken en vervolging van ernstige grensoverschrijdende criminaliteit.

• Amnesty International – Een wereldwijde mensenrechtenbeweging die campagne voert om een einde te maken aan misstanden, vrijheden te beschermen en gerechtigheid en waardigheid voor alle mensen te waarborgen.

• Global Shapers – Een door jongeren geleid netwerk dat is opgezet door het World Economic Forum en dat dialoog, actie en verandering in lokale gemeenschappen over de hele wereld stimuleert.

• Impunity Watch – Een ngo die verantwoordingsplicht voor massale schendingen van de mensenrechten bevordert, slachtoffers ondersteunt en lokale capaciteiten voor overgangsrechtspraak versterkt.
• The Hague Humanity Hub – Een gemeenschap en werkruimte die innovators, ngo's en instellingen die zich bezighouden met vrede, rechtvaardigheid en humanitaire actie met elkaar in contact brengt.

Bovendien kun je tijdens je bezoek aan The Hague Humanity Hub ook een kijkje nemen bij andere organisaties die hier gevestigd zijn. Zo heten onder meer Partos, Iran Academia en The HALO Trust je van harte welkom in hun kantoor.

• Partos – De Nederlandse ledenorganisatie voor organisaties die werkzaam zijn in internationale ontwikkeling, die samenwerking, innovatie en effectiviteit binnen de sector bevordert.
• Iran Academia – Een instituut voor hoger onderwijs en kritische studies gericht op democratie, mensenrechten en sociale wetenschappen, dat academische mogelijkheden biedt aan Iraniërs over de hele wereld.
• The HALO Trust – 's Werelds grootste humanitaire organisatie voor het opruimen van landmijnen, die zich inzet voor het verwijderen van landmijnen en andere explosieve oorlogsresten om levens te beschermen en bestaansmiddelen te herstellen.

Heb je kinderen? Neem ze gerust mee! Kinderen van 4 tot 14 jaar zijn van harte welkom om deel te nemen aan een creatieve kinderworkshop van Colors for Peace. Onder begeleiding van begeleiders gebruiken de kinderen kleuren, creativiteit en verbeeldingskracht om hun ideeën over een vreedzamere wereld uit te drukken. Wil je meedoen aan deze workshop? Just Peace Open Dag 2025

Den Haag staat wereldwijd bekend als de ‘Internationale Stad van Vrede & Recht’, en bijna elk monumentaal gebouw in de stad speelt een rol in het bouwen aan een rechtvaardiger en vreedzamer wereld.

Van het Vredespaleis tot het Internationaal Strafhof, van het Internationaal Strafhof van de VN tot het Nationaal Monument Oranjehotel, de straten van Den Haag ademen geschiedenis! Maar wat gebeurt er eigenlijk elke dag achter die grote deuren? En hoe helpen mensen die in Den Haag werken de wereld beter en eerlijker te maken? Daarom is er de Just Peace Open Dag om daar achter te komen!

Voor één speciale zondag, rond de Internationale Dag van de Vrede, in september openen Just Peace Den Haag en meer dan 20 partners hun deuren voor jou om een kijkje achter de schermen te nemen en verhalen te horen van de mensen en de geschiedenis van elke instelling.

Als je van plan bent om meerdere organisaties te bezoeken tijdens de Just Peace Open Dag, zorg er dan voor dat je slechts één sessie per tijdslot boekt. Meerdere boekingen in hetzelfde tijdslot (bij één of meerdere organisaties) door dezelfde persoon worden geannuleerd.

PrivacyverklaringThe Hague Humanity Hub verzamelt je naam, e-mailadres en (indien opgegeven) je organisatie wanneer je je registreert voor evenementen. Deze informatie wordt gebruikt om je deelname te beheren en je te informeren over toekomstige evenementen. Indien van toepassing verzamelen we ook je dieetwensen (bijvoorbeeld voor evenementen met catering) of je toestemming om onze nieuwsbrief te ontvangen. We delen je persoonlijke gegevens niet met andere organisaties zonder jouw uitdrukkelijke toestemming. Je gegevens worden veilig opgeslagen. Je hebt op elk moment het recht om je gegevens in te zien, te corrigeren of te laten verwijderen. We bewaren gegevens over evenementregistraties tot maximaal vijf jaar om trends in deelname te analyseren en onze programmering te verbeteren. Je kunt je op elk moment afmelden voor e-mailupdates of ervoor kiezen niet deel te nemen aan enquêtes.
