Overview

Join Leighton House and Sambourne House museums at Kensington Central Library for a series of free, fun and relaxing sessions.

Join the Leighton House and Sambourne House museum team for a series of Object Handling sessions exploring extraordinary objects from the museums’ collections. This is a relaxed opportunity to discover what museum objects can tell us about the past.

Participants (16+) are also invited to bring along their own historical objects (this could be something decades or centuries old, but it must be easy to carry and display on a small table).

Equally, feel free to come along without an object, discover what others have brought and join in the conversation!

The workshops will take place in Local Studies on the First Floor of the library. Please ask a member of staff if you need assistance in finding the room. Refreshments will be made available after the workshop, in a separate area, to protect the objects and collections.

Sessions are completely free and open to everyone, so please come along and enjoy!

the sessions will take place on the following dates:

Thursday 16 October 2025 – 1:00 – 2:00pm

Thursday 22 January 2026 – 1:00 – 2:00pm

Thursday 19 March 2026 – 1:00 – 2:00pm
