Funded by the Scottish Government (Justice Analytical Services) and published in Autumn 2019, Justice Journeys is a key piece of research led by Dr Oona Brooks-Hay, a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (Sociology), University of Glasgow. The report comprises in-depth interviews with 17 participants who reported rape or serious sexual assault in Scotland. The report seeks to develop a greater understanding of victim-survivor experiences with a view to informing and improving policy and practice developments .
Oona is the founder of the University of Glasgow Gender Based Violence Research Forum and she is a member of the British Sociological Association Violence Against Women Study Group, the European Society of Criminology Working Group on Gender, Crime and Justice, and the European Network on Gender Violence.
Dr Brooks-Hay will give a presentation about her work on this report and there will be a question and answer session at the end of the presentation.
This talk takes place during this years 16 Days of Action campaign which tackles violence against women and girls in Scotland. The campaign runs from 25 November - 10th December.
