at Gawthorpe Hall
Meet the butler and housekeeper – discover what life was like for the staff and servants of a Victorian family in the 1890s. Use the spiral staircase to pass from the stately family rooms to the Victorian kitchen where you can meet the housekeeper and have a go at writing with a quill pen.
Gawthorpe Hall is a tower shaped building over 3 floors with a lot of stairs, there is no life due to the historic nature of the building. We have a lot of seating around the Hall so that visitors can take a break whenever they need to. Prams cannot be taken around the Hall, they are left in the Entrance Hall and collected at the end of the visit.
