Meet Up Exeter - Code Club
Date and time
Description
Calling all tech enthusiasts!
We need your help to teach the next generation how to code.
Primary schools all over Devon are seeking volunteers to run after-school Code Clubs for their students and help their teachers deliver the new Computing curriculum.
If you are already running or hosting a club then come along and say hello and let us thank you for all your support so far.
What is Code Club?
Code Club is a nationwide network of volunteer-led coding clubs for children aged 9-11
We create projects for our volunteers to teach to after school coding clubs or at non school venues such as libraries. The projects we make teach children how to program by showing them how to make computer games, animations and websites. Our volunteers go to their local club for an hour a week and teach one project a week. Many of the projects use Scratch

How you can help
If you or your colleagues have computing skills, you can volunteer with us:
-
Help children - set up a Code Club and teach children to program once a week for an hour during term time.
-
Help teachers - become a Code Club Pro trainer and share your expertise with teachers for 8 hours a year.
This meet-up is an informal chance for anyone interested in volunteering for Code Club to find out more. Representatives from Code Club will explain how you can get involved and potential volunteers will get to talk to those already running clubs. Nothing beats hearing it from the horse's mouth!
Drinks and snacks will be provided.
We look forward to meeting you!
