FREE Webinar + Q&A for Art Professionals working internationally

Are you a creative professional or run a small art enterprise who works on an international basis? (This includes participating in fairs in other countries and/or working with artists / galleries elsewhere.)

Would you like to find out how to save time and money when sending / receiving money?

Do you ever get stung by exchange rates AND bank charges?

Is the world of foreign exchange (FX) at best an intriguing opportunity to learn or at worst a nightmare headache waiting to happen?

Never fear – Be Smart About Art is here to help.

We’re collaborating with Vorto, the FX traders who believe reputation holds a higher value than money. They’re happy to answer your questions + provide an introduction to the friendliest FX traders you may ever meet. They even have a love of art and community to boot!

Join this FREE webinar to find out how Vorto can save you time, stress and money.

Following the webinar, Vorto will be offering FREE 1-2-1 consultations to discuss your specific business requirements.

SPEAKERS:

BOBBY WARD, Director of Vorto, is driven to make strong and lasting relationships with clients. He lives by the Shakespearean motto “Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.” Bobby believes in offering a fair and honest service and when exchanging currency this incorporates consistency, trustworthiness and personal service.

Bobby started in the FX industry 10 years ago as a ‘tea-boy’ and has gradually worked his way up the ladder, now owning a successful business in the City of London. Aware that reputation is everything, he knows that if he continues to offer above and beyond, he will have clients (and friends) for life. As you have probably guessed by now, he loves turning a trading relationship into a friendship. He says, “in some cases you speak to work associates more than you do your friends so why not make that experience personal and enjoyable?”

Outside of the FX world, Bobby gains fulfillment by leaving a good footprint in the world. He has climbed two of the ‘seven summits’ for charity (Mt. Kilimanjaro & Mt. Kosciuszko) and is planning to concur the next five summits within 10 years. He regularly does other charity work and welcomes any challenges or suggestions where he can offer something back to those who are less fortunate.

DANIEL DORNAN-MCGOWAN, Senior Trader at Vorto, is dedicated to helping associates and friends of Be Smart About Art. The goal is to introduce a stress free and cost effective way to exchange currencies when the need arises for individuals and organisations. Daniel provides a personal yet professional approach to his work, making the effort to meet his clients and, on many occasions, socialize with them outside of work. This results in long lasting professional and friendly relationships.

Daniel started his career in the FX industry in 2008 at ground level, introducing new clients to a senior trader. He worked up through the ranks until becoming a very experienced senior trader himself. Strong client relationships are key to his success. By using his understanding of each client’s requirements, together with his knowledge of their business and the FX market, he ensures each client gets the very best most cost-effective service. With this in mind, he is keen to learn more about the wonders of the art world, to ensure all relationships gained from collaboration with BSAA will be dealt with in the most simple and efficient way possible.

Outside of the busy world of the FX industry, Daniel likes to slow down a bit and enjoys more peaceful hobbies such as fishing and snooker. He likes to give back and is currently also in business with his wife, who owns a nursery school for 0-5 year olds, specializing in educating deprived and vulnerable 2, 3 & 4 year olds, getting them ready to start their school lives with best start possible.

SUSAN J MUMFORD is a game-changer in the 21st Century art world. She’s an entrepreneur, mentor, speaker, moderator and author. While running her gallery in Soho, London, she founded the Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD), a non-profit trade network with three chapters: London, New York and Global. This was followed by her launching Be Smart About Art, an online-accessible platform based out of London that helps creative professionals thrive in a changing world. In late 2015, her first book was published in the name of BSAA’s motto: Art is your life. Make it your living.
