About this event

  • Event lasts 9 hours 30 minutes

Why do we make changes for the better, and then fall back into the same old cycles and patterns?

We often take the easy path with change - a burst of effort for a short period of time that seems to get us what we want, but its effects are temporary.

On this adventure, we will explore what it means to take the ‘hard path’ - long-lasting, and sustainable change, where we don’t keep repeating the same cycles, whilst climbing the highest mountain in the UK.

And of course, we’ll shun the “easy” path up to the summit of Ben Nevis, instead ascending via the challenging, yet superbly rewarding, Carn Mor Derag Arete.

Who is it for?

This Walkshop is designed for Professionals and Business Owners who:

  • Keep making the same commitments to change but find themselves back where they started
  • Have tried quick fixes and temporary solutions that never seem to stick
  • Want to break free from self-sabotaging patterns that keep them trapped in cycles
  • Are ready to commit to the harder path that leads to genuine, lasting transformation
  • Crave real change but struggle to maintain momentum when motivation fades

It is time to choose adventure and start your journey to Meet Your Mountain

This Walkshop will take place in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and will challenge you, whilst also giving you time and space to reflect, clear your mind, unlock extraordinary thinking, and reconnect with your vision.

During our adventure to the highest point in the UK, we will:

  • Challenge yourself on the technical and exposed Carn Mor Dearg Arete, learning what it truly means to commit to the difficult path
  • Discover why surface-level changes fail and identify the deeper patterns that keep you stuck
  • Develop a framework for sustainable transformation that doesn't rely on willpower or quick fixes
  • Create accountability systems that will support your journey long after you've descended the mountain

The Route

We will meet in nearby Fort William, before heading to the North Face Car Park to begin the walk.

The journey begins with a lovely walk in the woods, and as we climb, the view will open up and the Ben Nevis massif will tower above us. we'll head into the enchanting valley, before climbing up its eastern side, to the subsidiary peak of Carn Derag Meadhonach, and then Carn Mor Derag, our first Munro of the day.

At the summit, we will be facing down the Carn Mor Derag Arete, a narrow ridge connecting us to Ben Nevis. What appears to be precarious is not as tricky as it looks - the ridge is quite similar in character Striding Edge in the Lake District, but twise as long. Just as the scrambling seems to be over, we climb a rocky section with a tricky step at the end, before we find ourselves facing the scree slope of the Ben Nevis summit. This next section is a non-exposed scramble over boulders, before we find ourselves on the summit of the UK's tallest mountain.

It is rare we get a view from here, but if the weather is kind, we'll soak it in, before heading off the summit, and onto the 'tourist path'. We follow this about halfway down the mountain, before branching off onto a smaller track, passing the Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe, before an off-path foray through heather, and back to the woods we started in.

We'll head back to Fort William after the hike and enjoy a well-deserved meal and drink (food and drink not included!)
