About this event

Meeting Autistic Need - The Low Arousal Approach

Low Arousal Training for School Based Staff

"The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

Low Arousal is a practical, evidence-based approach to behaviour management, particularly effective in supporting autistic pupils and those experiencing high levels of stress. While simple in concept, it can be challenging to implement in high-pressure environments like schools.

This training session offers an opportunity to step back, reflect, and reframe how we support some of our most vulnerable learners. By investing time in understanding the principles of Low Arousal, you’ll gain valuable insight and a toolkit of calm, effective strategies to help reduce stress and improve outcomes—for pupils and staff alike.

Key details:

  • Cost: £75 per participant (invoiced after the event)
  • Eligibility: Open to school staff working in Sheffield settings only.
  • Prior Learning: We suggest a foundation understanding of Autism - such as Making Sense AET prior to the session
  • Take Away Packs: Practical, ready-to-use digital resources will be emailed after the event.
