An event to find out more about the Meeting Point programme, talk to Arts&Heritage about applying and find out more about how working with artists could benefit you and your programme.

Five successful applicants from Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Isle of Wight will be selected to take part in a fully funded programme of lively and informed workshops that results in a new artwork responding to site and context.

This is the 5th round of a national highly regarded Arts Council-funded programme led by Arts&Heritage, that mentors and funds museum staff to commission a new artwork with an artist, writer, performer or musician for their site.

This unique opportunity gives you a chance to develop a brief to meet a need identified by your museum - whether that need is around engaging with new audiences, reinterpreting your collections or telling a new story about your site. As part of the process, museums will benefit from support, expertise and funding to deliver a high-quality new work for your museum or heritage site.

This 2-year funded programme includes visits to artists’ studios, meeting with art curators and learning from peers who have been part of previous programmes. Participants receive and manage an £11,000 commissioning budget, with additional PR and marketing support supplied by Arts&Heritage. They will also receive £500 for bespoke marketing and £500 for bespoke engagement activity to promote and raise the profile of their projects.

This event on 20th January is geared towards Senior Staff, Directors, Board and Curators of museums and heritage sites of any size, with little to no experience of programming contemporary arists. The event is open to staff and volunteers from museums across Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Spaces are limited, and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
