Event description
Please join CIRAS at this FREE Virtual Rep event to hear what our members are doing to meet the environment and sustainability challenge

About this event

Arguably, how we step up to the challenge of ensuring we leave a healthy, sustainable environment for future generations is the biggest trial of our time. Without a doubt, everyone in our industry has a role to play. How do we not only minimise the negative impact we have on our environment - as an industry and as individual organisations - but actively promote a sustainable and healthy planet? One thing is clear - none of us can do it alone. At this event, we invite you to come and hear about the innovative work of two of our members – Network Rail and HS2. Share your own good practice and take away some new ideas.

What are you doing to meet this challenge in your business? And how do you enable your people to speak up about environment and sustainability issues?

Join the CIRAS team and your fellow members for the next in our series of learning webinars, to explore these questions and share how you are raising awareness and tackling environment and sustainability concerns.

As always, we invite you (and your colleagues) to come along willing to share your own experiences, and hopefully to take away some ideas for how you can do things differently in your own organisations.

Who’s speaking?

  • Jo Lewington (Chief Environment & Sustainability Officer), Network Rail
  • Peter Miller (Director of Environment), HS2

Who should attend?

This is a member-only event which is aimed at:

• CIRAS reps

• HSQE professionals

• HSQE champions or volunteers

• anyone else with an interest in environment and sustainability.

Please pass this invite on to any colleagues who you think may be interested in joining us.

What will we be discussing?

If you’re thinking of attending here’s some questions to think about:

  • Are you seeing any connections between environment concerns and the health and safety of your workforce?
  • What challenges do you face getting people to speak up about environmental concerns?
  • What kind of initiatives are you working on? Could you share these with other members?

• What do you need help with?

Across industries we are working to exploit the opportunity to learn from such events and through our engagement programme, our newsletters and our website we will share any lessons learnt and actioned. CIRAS is open to all transport operators, infrastructure organisations and their supply chain.
