Meeting the Social Care needs of deaf children and young people, Manchester

Are you a social worker or other professional working to ensure deaf children get the support they need?
Deaf children and young people may face a range of challenges and risks that make them particularly vulnerable. Our one-day interactive workshop will help you understand the issues and relevant legislation and give you the tools to improve your support and practice. Through a mix of group work, presentations and case studies you’ll learn approaches that address the needs of deaf children and their families. You’ll have the opportunity to use the National Deaf Children’s Society assessment framework and know how to ensure effective communication – helping you to promote positive outcomes for the deaf children and young people you work with.

Who is the course for?
Social workers or other professionals with an interest in supporting the social care needs of deaf children.
How much does it cost?
£90 per delegate, payable via credit/debit card, cheque and invoice.

Is lunch provided?
Please note that lunch is not provided. Delegates will be asked to bring their own lunch or make use of any local cafes. Refreshments, such as tea, coffee and water will be available.
Can I give my place to a friend or colleague if I can't come?

What if I need to cancel?
In the event the
Delegate cancels 20 working days or less before the planned date, a charge of 100% of the total cost will be made
Delegate cancels 21 - 30 working days before the planned date, a charge of 50% will be made
Delegate cancels 31 working days before the planned date, no charge will be made.
