About this event

As AI, cloud computing and digital services accelerate, data centres are emerging as one of the fastest-growing sources of electricity demand in the UK. This webinar dives into the scale of the challenge: how rising energy use intersects with grid constraints, Net Zero targets, and the need for resilient, sustainable infrastructure.

It will discuss key developments including the establishment of the UK AI Energy Council, the establishment of AI Growth Zones, and the key data centre infrastructure requirements to facilitate this digital growth and meet energy demand through renewable energy. It will also discuss the intersection between ambitious UK AI growth plans, and developments in new nuclear technology, including how small and advanced modular reactors might be utilised as a provider of abundant renewable energy for data centres, co-located on site.

Join energy experts, infrastructure providers and digital leaders as we explore how the sector is responding, what innovations are emerging, and what policy, planning and investment are needed to keep pace. This session is part of the Foresight Webinar Series, spotlighting the intersections of clean energy, industry and digital transformation.
