Event Details

Due to high demand and in response to your emails asking us to make more tickets available, we might move the event to 7.30pm which will allow us to have additional 80 people. This will, however, mean that the additional guests will need to listen to the talk in a different lecture hall (in the same building) via overflow streaming. We are aware that this is not the ideal solution but this is the best we can do. We are still in the process of arranging that. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that can cause but we strongly believe that as many people as possible should be able to listen to Ms Tribich's talk.

It is our honour to invite everyone, and especially members of the New College community, to the meeting with Mala Tribich, a Holocaust survivor. Ms Tribich will give an one-hour talk during which she will tell us about her experience during the war and beyond. Afterwards she will take questions from the audience.

Ms Tribich's story: I was born on 24th September 1930 in Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poland, the middle child of three, with an older brother Ben and a younger sister Lusia. I enjoyed a normal happy life in a loving family until the German Army invaded Poland on 1st September 1939, when my world collapsed. During the next five and a half years I survived life in a ghetto, as a hidden child, as a slave labourer, and in November 1944 was deported to Ravensbruck concentration camp, and subsequently to Bergen Belsen. There I was very ill with typhus when liberated by the British army on 15th April 1945. (source: Holocaust Survivors ’45 Aid Society)

The event is free but we kindly ask you to book a ticket via Eventbrite and bring it with you to the talk.
