About this event

Meeting overview

Social Work England is the regulator for around 100,000 social workers in England. We set the professional standards for social workers and higher education providers, manage the register of social workers and investigate fitness to practise concerns. All social workers who wish to practice in England must be on our register (by law).

We would like to invite organisations which source agency social workers to an online meeting to share information about our respective roles. The meeting is aimed at representatives from social work recruitment agencies (including independent fostering and adoption agencies) which arrange for social workers to work in England-based organisations such as local authorities, health organisations and private, voluntary and independent sector organisations.

The  meeting will be an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about the role of Social Work England.
  • Examine your responsibilities in relation to the social workers you work with.
  • Find out what regulation means for the social workers you recruit.
  • Ask questions about the role of Social Work England.
  • Establish contacts for future queries.

If you have any questions about the meeting, please email regionalengagementleads@socialworkengland.org.uk

Every day, social workers support millions of people to improve their chances in life.

Social Work England is a specialist body taking a new approach to regulating social workers in their vital roles.

We believe in the power of collaboration and share a common goal with those we regulate—to protect the public, enable positive change and ultimately improve people’s lives.
