Artist Bio

American-Born British cellist Megan Allen is currently completing her Masters of Music at the Royal College of Music studying with Tim Walden. Megan completed her undergraduate at Trinity Laban Conservatoire (2022) as a Gladys Bratton and Trinity College London scholar, studying with Naomi Butterworth and graduated with first class honours. In 2022 she won the Felicity Smith and Leaonard Young competition with her performance of Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano No 4. Principal cellist of Trinity Labans Sinfonia and Symphony orchestra 2018-2022, Megan has enjoyed success in a variety of orchestral opportunities including working with the WNO, London Mozart Players, and Solem quartet in side-by-side concerts. A young and exciting soloist Megan has performed at many top London venues such as Blackheath Halls, the Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall. She also has performed works such as Blochs Schelomo, Haydns Cello Concerto in D and Bachs VI Cello Suite in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Leonard Elschenbroich, Rebecca Gilliver and Raphael Wallfisch. Among her work in solo and orchestral music Megan is passionate about chamber music and back in the height of lockdown she performed in a live streamed concert of Mendelssohn’s Octet with Stephanie Gonley reaching global audiences.
