A monthly Meisner drop-in with Kelsey Yuhara.

About this event

Theatrical improv needs honesty, vulnerability, and characters with rich inner lives. Using a mix of Meisner and improv exercises we’ll learn how to be present, and how to balance our own emotional reactions with those of a character. We’ll use our own gut instincts and kinaesthetic responses, mixed in with some purposeful character building, to play rich and satisfying scenes. Come along and add some acting tools to your kit!

This is a dropin workshop happening the second Saturday of each month (May 14th, June 11th and July 14th) . You can come to as many or as few sessions as you like.

Please note due to class constraints, we're unable to let you in if you arrive more than 15 minutes after the class start time.

Scholarship spots are available to those who need them, please email for more info

About Kelsey:

Kelsey Yuhara is a London-based fourth generation Japanese-American (and has needed to remind herself of who and where she is ever since lockdown). She studied Theatre at Whitman College and Site-Specific Performance at Mountview. From Seattle, to Istanbul, to Iran, and now to the UK, she has immersed herself in projects and groups as an actor, improviser, director, and costume designer. She is the founder and former director (2013-2017) of the international improv group The Clap in Istanbul and is a performing member of the UK's first pan-Asian improv team, Comediasians.
