Saudha, Society Of Poetry and Indian Music: 'one of the prominent Indian classical music promoters in the country' (BBC Radio), offers this touring event of hypnotic and 'breath-taking' presentation after having world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival ('Rhapsody of Soul' -Guardian, 'Seraphic ecstasy of Indian Raaga - Yorkshire Reporter ) of Indian classical music by the leading classical vocalist Chandra Chakraborty (www.ChandraChakraborty.info) and critically acclaimed, prominent accompanying artists like Kamalbir Nandra (violin) and Chiranjit Mukherjee from India on Tabla. This is seamlessly mingled with Kathak dance by Showmi Das and French, medieval, romantic troubadour music and haunting verses of world poetry in English by actor and Schubert vocalist Erik Schelander, to interpret and intensify the profound mood of the transcendental music.

Chandra Chakraborty: Chandra ji is one of the finest North Indian vocalist and disciple of Late maestro Pandit A Kanan and Smt Malabika Kanan; currently she is exploring different other styles in different Garanas and taking Talim under Srimati Girija Devi. Chandra has been performing since the age of 6. She is a National Scholar, Gold Medallist and ex-scholar of famous Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. Chandra has performed almost all over the world including South Africa and Pakistan. She was the principle vocal teacher of Indian Consulate, Johannesburg and a lecturer of Witwatersrand University, South Africa.
Kamabir Nandra: Kamalbir ji is a very well-known Violinist in UK, who is a disciple of the late Ghazal legend Jagjit Singh. Kamalbir has performed solo and accompanied world famous musicians in many concerts. He has also played in Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall and for several Bollywood and experimental British films.
Chiranjit Mukherjee: Chiranjit is one of the senior disciples of the legendary Tabla Maestro Pandit Kumar Bose. Chiranjit is one of very few who was able to hold the first place in his undergraduate and also in the post graduate degree from Rabindra Bharati University in Music (percussion).In addition to his fine Tabla skills his love for the instrument and the music is clearly visible in his playing.
Eric Schelander: Erik is mainly a Schubert and Troubadour vocalist, who has been singing and performing on the stage as an actor for over last 30 years. He is also a photographer, translator recite and a poet.
