Overview

Learn what autistic meltdowns and shutdowns are, why they happen and how to support recovery for young people and families.

For autistic young people, the world can be an overwhelming place and sometimes this can trigger emotional responses that may be expressed outwardly and/or inwardly, and these are known as meltdowns and shutdowns. This workshop is designed to provide information about these experiences to increase understanding and awareness and to share advice on coping and recovery for individuals and the whole system.
