Description

Voices of the future

The 3rd NOAH Members’ Day takes place on 12 June at the iconic setting of Westminster Boating Base, overlooking the Thames in Pimlico. Come and join us!

All NOAH member personnel, including those not currently closely involved with NOAH activities are welcome, and the event will be relevant across a wide range of job roles.

It will showcase how your association can support you throughout your career and on the issues impacting the work you do, giving you a greater understanding and a chance to influence NOAH’s direction. We will also honour the top students from our NOAH Certificate of Animal Health (NCAH) course from 2018.

Covering topics highlighted in the development of NOAH’s 2018-23 Strategy, the event allows plenty of time for discussion and networking. Take time from your busy schedule to attend!

With the NOAH AGM running from 9.30 to 10.30, the Members’ Day event will open with registration and networking at 10.30am; with presentations starting at 11am. Highlights include:

  • Welcome and update from the NOAH Chair – our 2018 successes and 2019 activities
  • The future of the veterinary profession – Lizzie Lockett, Chief Executive, RCVS will look at how the veterinary profession is shaping itself in a changing world. Mark Boddy from PawSquad will look specifically at online consultations
  • Focus on regulation - the VMD will review what's next for animal medicines regulation in the UK
  • Why you need not fear Anti Trust and Competition Law will be reviewed by Lindsay Draffan from Bates Wells Braithwaite LLP
  • 'Telling your story' - a presentation and workshop led by Debra Leigh from Central School of Speech and Drama will give take-home advice on storytelling techniques to get your messages across
  • Social media engagement – Danielle Carter from Mistral will review who engages with NOAH and will offer advice on social media trends and build on your engagement
  • The future of farming: a vision for animal health and welfare. Catherine Harrold from DEFRA will look at how Government and industry can work together to improve the health and welfare of UK animals, and the productivity and sustainability of our farms. Grace O’Gorman will give an update on NOAH’s Vision paper and the AMBP project
