Join fellow members of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce and our special guest, Fergus Ewing MSP, Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Connectivity at our informal networking lunch on Friday 1st June.

Mr Ewing's portfolio covers aspects of business that are relevant to all businesses in Lochaber, big and small, so please do come along for your chance to hear from one of our country's top-decision makers. It's also a great opportunity to get together with fellow members for an informal lunch and chat. We look forward to seeing you there!

Fergus Ewing MSP

As the Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy and Connectivity, Fergus Ewing is responsible for.

  • agriculture and crofting

  • cross government co-ordination on islands

  • fisheries and aquaculture

  • food and drink

  • forestry

  • Highlands and Islands Enterprise

  • rural Scotland

  • transport and public transport

Biography

Mr Ewing is MSP for Inverness and Nairn, and was first elected in 1999, having been re-elected on four occasions. He is the elder son of Winnie Ewing, and his sister Annabelle is also a Minister in the Scottish Government.

Educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, he graduated in law from Glasgow University before serving his apprenticeship and then running his own legal practice. After decades of bagging Munros, completing marathons and serving as a member of Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, he now engages in more sedentary pursuits such as the piano, listening to jazz and doing crosswords.
