Date & Time: Sunday 26th October, 6–8pm BST
Location: Online (Zoom link provided after registration)
Step into the circle for a two-hour online masterclass in writing the strange, the uncanny, and the forbidden. Internationally acclaimed author C. J. Cooke (The Last Witch, The Lighthouse Witches, The Ghost Woods) invites you to explore the dark intersections of folklore, horror, and witchcraft in story.
This exclusive workshop combines short talks, guided writing sprints, and a live Q&A to help you:
- Use ritual language, objects, and atmosphere to build dread.
- Transform local folklore into unsettling story ideas.
- Structure a horror scene around unease → escalation → reveal.
- Write with care and awareness when drawing on witch-trial history.
You’ll also experience a special reading from The Last Witch, with discussion on how folklore and history shaped its creation.

What you’ll leave with:
- 3–4 eerie story fragments to develop.
