A practical, outdoor session looking at how and why record burial ground memorials.

About this event

Burial Grounds are full of stories, of lives long lived and those cut tragically short. They chart the history of our communities, they tell stories of immigration, war and disasters, of fashion and wealth and it is this rich social history we will explore.

Join the Celebrating Birmingham's Burial Ground s Project in finding out how and why to record memorials and help us capture this important resource of Birmingham's social history.

This is a practical, outdoor session on a site with a variety of terrain including wide surfaced pathways. This session can accommodate those with additional access needs please contact george@cfga.org.uk if you wish to discuss this with the organiser.

Thanks to our funders (The National Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic England and The Garifield Weston Foundation) these sessions are free.
