Black Women in Menopause - This is a session with other like minded individuals sharing wisdom, support, and strategies for navigating this phase of life together.
Join BWIM from the comfort of your own home with Dr Tonye Wokoma is a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Community Gynaecology. She has been an accredited BMS Menopause Specialist for many years and is the clinical lead for the Specialist Menopause service in Hull.
In this informative session, Dr. T Wokoma will explore the realities of menopause, clarify common misunderstandings, discuss its physical and emotional effects, and provide expert answers to your questions to help you feel better informed and more confident in navigating this stage of life.
This event is primarily for Black, Brown people and people of colour - everybody is welcome.
Join us via Zoom to discuss about perimenopause and menopause. This is an open discussion for menopausal and post-menopausal people.

About our speaker - Dr Tonye Wokoma FRCOG, FFSRH, DIPM, Menopause Specialist
Dr Tonye Wokoma is a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Community Gynaecology. She has been an accredited BMS Menopause Specialist for many years and is the clinical lead for the Specialist Menopause service in Hull.
Tonye is a true advocate of women’s health and menopause care, keen to address health inequalities. She has authored publications including the Consensus-led recommendations supporting choice and personalisation of HRT in menopause care.
She delivers national and international presentations and gave an enlightening talk at the BMS annual conference 2022 on addressing inequalities in menopause care.
Tonye has a special interest in Sexual health of refugees and asylum seekers, outreach services and cultural competency in Women’s health. She regularly facilitates and delivers sessions and has also written articles on these topics. She is passionate about empowering women to take control of their health.
Outside of work, she loves travelling and reading
