When – Saturday 4th October 2025 – 9.30am - 1pm
We invite you to join us for this reinvigorating half day of science backed health and wellbeing practices, at The Urban Yurt, Edinburgh.
This is a time for men to invest in themselves by reducing stress which can build up in the body and restore harmony to the nervous system. We will use a blend of practices based on mindfulness, breath work, SOMATIC and Polyvagal Theory to help rebalance mind & body and boost your energy. This event presents a great opportunity to learn and directly experience a range of practices that are suitable for beginners to support health and wellbeing and increase capacity for connection and impulse control. The body carries a lot of wisdom and this half day will open the door to becoming more connected with this inner wisdom.
Retreat includes:
- Guided mindfulness practice
- Movement / stretching to increase flow and circulation
- Polyvagal Theory nervous system restoration practices
- Recharge the body through mindful body scan
- A range of relaxing and energising breathing exercises
- Sound meditation (with instruments to restore the bodies energy frequency)
- Time for individual reflection and group discussion
This will be a safe, relaxed and supportive environment for men to be get the benefit of a day of rest and recovery and to be fully themselves without any stress or demands. Snacks, tea or coffee will also be provided.
This event is open to men of all ages from 16 years +, who might find it valuable to get out of the house for some respite away from the pressures of daily life. As humans we have a biological need for connection to maintain our health and wellbeing and this event will provide access to a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to relax and have conversation with other men. We would recommend bringing a water bottle with you.
We will have mats and blankets available. Please feel free to bring your own blanket or cushion if preferred and wear suitable clothing to maximise comfort.
WHO IS IT FOR?This retreat is open to any men interested in exploring mindfulness meditation, breathing, movement and holistic mind-body practices.
WHO WILL FACILITATE?Your facilitator will be Gary Young (Mindfulness Teacher - Founder of The Mindful Enterprise CIC).
