About this event

Health • Mental health

Talk and Talk evenings generally feature a guest speaker who will either talk about their lived experiences of Mental Health, share coping strategies or provide an experience which will enhance your general wellbeing. In the past we have had everything from guided breath work sessions and guided meditation to heartfelt accounts of coping with poor Mental Health and suicidal thoughts. Each Talk & Talk evening offers something a little bit different, but all are designed to make you think and to help you with your own Mental Health journey.

This months guest speaker at Talk & Talk;

Carl Meek

Council estate kid to entrepreneur

Carl Meek is a local business owner, husband, and father of two who has lived in various parts of the world—most recently in Colombia, South America.

Carl has just published his first book; We Were Seven – a true story of fear, friendship, and finding in 1980’s Luton.

We are delighted that Carl will be joining us to discuss his life from growing up on a council estate to becoming an entrepreneur, and how writing the book has been an integral part of his own personal journey.

There will be plenty of opportunities to both listen to insightful advice and to share your experiences. Don't fancy standing up and sharing or contributing yet?... no problem, sit back with a coffee and a doughnut and just listen. It's up to you how much you want to interact and get involved, no pressure!

We run sessions like this to try and help give local men additional coping techniques and strategies, to help them deal with life and any mental health challenges they might be facing. But you don't have to be struggling, maybe you want to try something new or maybe you just want to get out of the house, whatever your reasons... we're here for you! So, please come along and join us!

Please arrive at 7pm and our speaker will kick things off at around 7.15pm. Free tea, coffee and light refreshments are provided.
