MENSUS Industry Showcase
MENSUS (Monitoring of Engineered and Natural Systems Using Sensors) is a new initiative centred at the University of Southampton that focuses on system condition monitoring technology and applications. There are 5 key themes in MENSUS which cover system characterisation, sensors & devices, energy harvesting, big data & analytics and system integration. MENSUS brings together and leverages the strong interdisciplinary expertise from the University to tackle the system-wide challenges encountered by many industrial sectors. The goal of the initiative is to become an international centre of excellence within 5 years (2020).The Industry Showcase is aimed at an audience interested in sensing and monitoring systems for the aerospace, maritime, transport, energy, environment and healthcare sectors. The day will be split into two parts with the morning providing an overview and speakers from the Government and industry. The afternoon will have a more technical focus with talks from MENSUS theme leaders and key note speakers from funding bodies such as EPSRC. There will also be demonstrations, exhibitions and posters throughout the day for all as well as a lab tour which will take place over lunch.
